I don’t get to Amory often, so I decided to head to a local favorite that’s been serving Amory for decades, Pickles Drive In, also known as “Pickles on the hill”.

They’re on the hill next to Walmart and do a LOT of business! They have take out window for call in orders and plenty of room inside for a nice sit down meal.

If you’re a regular at Pickles, you know the routine and everything runs like a well oiled machine. If you’re a first timer, here is how it works… When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, pay, take a number and pick a table until your number is called.

If you want a custom salad, you’ll get a list of toppings, check off what you want, and they’ll bring it to your table. And don’t forget to ask for one of their homemade dressings like my ranch. Soooo good! I always thought I made a pretty salad, but these folks got skills!!

I was told some of Pickles top sellers are their fried catfish plates, burgers, chicken Philly and beef Philly sandwiches. Oh, and get their salad bar with WHATEVER you order, it’s really good!
Menu Showcase:
🔥Salad
🔥 Fried Catfish
🔥Jumbo Bacon Cheeseburger
🔥Double Bacon Cheeseburger
The whole fried catfish was really tasty with nice seasoning and beautiful white meat. I always add some lemon juice and a dab of tartar sauce. Sometimes if I feel a little wild, I’ll also add a splash of hot sauce. Catfish is available all day long, everyday they’re open.
Another favorite are the burgers. I bought both the Jumbo Bacon Cheeseburger and the Double Bacon Cheeseburger, just to show the differences.

Both burgers are the same price but the “regular” double has two small patties and the Jumbo “single” has one huge patty. The total weight of meat is probably around half pound on both burgers. I just prefer the Jumbo because it’s just so thick and juicy. The meat was so huge, it overlapped the jumbo bun!

Have you been to Pickle’s Drive In? What are some of your favorites off their menu?
Everyone’s taste is different. My goal is to give you a glimpse of what I see and experience so you can judge for yourselves if the atmosphere and menu are right for you.
