Chi Town Grub Food Truck – Tupelo, MS

I first got to visit this Chicago inspired food truck when it rolled into Tupelo a couple years ago. Well, recently everything fell into place and I got another taste!

Eating out can also be like taking a mini vacation in your own neighborhood. I don’t know about y’all, but when I go on vacation, eating at new restaurants is a big part of my trip. When you eat food prepared by Chi Town Grub you’re getting to experience the authentic flavors of Chicago right at home!

Menu showcase:
🔥Italian Beef
🔥Jerk Chicken Taco
🔥Polish Sausage
🔥Seasoned Fries

The Italian Beef is about as Chicago as you can get. Said to have originated on the South Side of Chicago by Italian immigrates, this is a simply delicious combination of thinly sliced tender beef, pickled veggies on a fluffy bun with just a hint of crispy crust.

The fries have a little crunch, with seasoning added and topped with Chicago mild sauce. I REALLY want to give extra props to these fries. Some places serve fries with little to no seasoning. Sure, it may be to satisfy some who are watching their salt intake. BUT, if you’re going to eat fries, then eat them in all their glory! Seasoned up, and sauced up! And the folks at Chi Town Grub took out all the guesswork and came up with the perfect amount of both!

When you want a taco that’s not just a taco, go get you some Jerk Chicken Tacos! A soft shell filled with finely chopped Jerk seasoned chicken, topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, and sauce. Like the fries, it was perfectly seasoned and sauced for the perfect amount of added flavor!

The Polish Sausage was bun-length, simply topped with grilled onions and mustard. It wasn’t what I’d call spicy, but was definitely delicious and savoury.

The grilled onions added a hint of sweetness, complementing the savory sausage, while the tangy mustard provided a zesty kick. This classic combination never fails to please the taste buds.

They still have a couple more Chicago inspired items on the menu I’ve got on my eye on to try next time.

Everyone’s taste is different. My goal is to give you a glimpse of what I see and experience so you can judge for yourselves if the atmosphere and menu are right for you. So when you visit, be sure to tell the crew I recommended you. Happy Trails!!
