If you’re in Tupelo and you’re looking for an amazing soul food experience, look no further than In Season. For over a decade, this establishment has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike. According to owner Carolyn, their menu has attracted customers from all over the region!

In Season provides various dining options for customers, including takeout for those who prefer a quiet meal at home or work, as well as dine-in services for both locals and travelers from further away. Additionally, In Season caters to larger orders for special events and family gatherings.

As soon as you walk into the eatery, you’ll be greeted by a cafeteria-style food bar at the back. Here, you can take your pick from an assortment of meats and veggies. What’s more, they only use the freshest ingredients and seasonings to achieve the perfect taste.

The menu boasts a wide range of customer favorites, including dressing, Bourbon Chicken, and other specialty items like hog maws and pigs feet.

Specialty pies, cake and other fresh made desserts should always be considered while dining at In Season. My Pecan Pie was absolute perfection!

One of In Season’s most popular dishes is chitterlings, a Southern delicacy that is usually available on Sundays. While some may be hesitant to try it, In Season is known for its meticulous preparation that draws in a crowd. In fact, few restaurants offer this dish, making In Season a hot spot that often has customers lining up outside the door. Keep in mind that the menu changes daily, so it’s best to call ahead for the weekly selections.

🔥Cornbread
🔥Pecan Pie

The Bourbon Chicken is a very rich and savory dish. Your plate is first piled high with tender cuts of chicken, then drenched in homemade Bourbon Sauce. I recommend choosing cornbread as a side item to soak up every delicious drop of the sauce.

The potato salad was freshly made and had a unique mustard flavor with delicate spices and boiled egg pieces. It was so good that it could have easily been a meal in itself!

The Boiled cabbage is normally prepared with only a few ingredients and makes a perfect side dish to pair with many entrees like the Bourbon Chicken.

Boiled chitterlings is an acquired taste and I’d never given them a second thought until I discovered that In Season was so well renowned for their preparation of the dish.

Chitterlings possess a distinctive texture and tenderness that readily absorbs the spices and cooking ingredients used in its preparation. Accompanied by perfectly paired side dishes, it is a true Southern delight. Just a couple sides to consider are the greens and Mac & Cheese. To enhance the flavor, hot sauce is often added after serving to suit individual preferences.

It always amazes me how any restaurant can be celebrated by customers from hours away yet still be a hidden gem to potential customers just around the corner.
