I’ve always enjoyed visiting Forklift. It’s atmosphere is totally laid back with an
elegant touch! Once inside, you start to notice all the cool features like the neon “Love your Craft” sign projected on the wall, along with the beautiful wood tables and Edison lighting.

Plus, the outdoor patio with beautiful fire pit is an awesome dining option! It all helps set the mood for the delicious flavors that await! After all, we eat with our eyes before taking our first bite.

Featured menu items:
Fresh grilled Gulf Oysters
Ribeye with smoked mushrooms
Salt baked potato
I was craving chargrilled oysters and was looking for a local restaurant that served them. Well, look no further! Forklift is now serving fresh Naked Jade oysters, a boutique oyster out of Mon Louis Island, Alabama!

A Forklift exclusive, they say these oysters are harvested on Wednesday and available for your pleasure by Thursday!

However, I was able to order my first dozen by Wednesday night! You can enjoy them raw or prepare my favorite way, chargrilled on their Big Green Egg! Each oyster is grilled to perfection, bathed in brown butter, pecorino, and green onion.
Forklift’s chargrilled oysters were succulent, tender, plump, buttery, and perfectly prepared! These were the best I’ve had in a while! I’ll definitely be heading back for more! Price of each will be market value and subject to change.
With such a delectable dining experience, it needs to be paired perfectly to enjoy the total experience.
I am by no means a wine connoisseur or mixed drink mixologist. But I know people who are, and I take there expert advice. To pair with my oysters, it was recommended I choose one of two wines, the Maison No. 9 Rosé Méditerranée or the Bread and Butter Chardonnay. Not wanting to miss an opportunity, I requested both!
*Maison No. 9 RosĂ© MĂ©diterranĂ©e from France was featured in the top 25 Provence Rose wines, this selection boasts strawberry, watermelon, peach, and other citrus notes. The folks at Forklift say that it’s not a very chalky Rose and one of their favorites that they’ve had in house. Pair it easily with pork, shellfish, poultry and vegetarian dishes.
*Bread and Butter Chardonnay of Central California. Currently one of the top 4% wines in the world, this chardonnay has great aromas of vanilla and butter. This selection of favored for it’s versatility as it can be paired easily with pork, poultry, vegetarian dishes, and most fish.
You can’t go wrong with either choice of wine, but you can definitely enhance your experience by enjoying both!

Another menu item that is more than a meal, but a destination, is Forklift’s Ribeye. Mine was about ten to twelve once’s, aged for 28 days, prepared medium, topped with steak butter. And with any beautiful steak, paired with smoked mushrooms and a tender sea salt encrusted, bake potato.

The Ribeye was perfectly tender, and full of flavor. The creamy butter soaked into every crevice, and the smoked mushrooms seemed to be marinated in a rich sauce that really tied the full flavor together.
Whether you’re in the mood for fresh succulent seafood, savory steak, or both, set your sights on Forklift in Tupelo and enjoy the atmosphere, food, and flavors! Happy Trails!
