I don’t get out towards Nettleton often, but I would hear from time to time about The Fathers Table. I recently meet a long time reader, Lucy Blair, who finally convinced me to take action.
She told me how wonderful the food was, especially the burger with fries, and their fresh salads. So no more procrastinating, it’s off to Nettleton in search of The Father’s Table!

Located just a couple doors down from the piggly Wiggly, and within eye sight of the Water Tower, I arrived!
Time scanning the menu wasn’t necessary, thanks to my friend Lucy. I knew exactly what to order! The Double Cheeseburger, fries, and a large Chef Salad.

Their burgers are prepared with fresh hand patted beef, and built tall and tasty! I will caution y’all, I ordered the double for the spectacle of it. But I had no idea how huge each burger patty would be. I’d suggest a single burger or just order two. My double was so massive, that I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. But for my first visit, I’m glad for the experience, cause it was a beauty!

I was told the fries that all the locals loved was of the crinkle variety. But they were out during my visit, so I tried their fresh, hand cut, home fries. They piled them so high on the plate, it reminded me of a loaded down log truck! Yeah, it was a long and loaded down plate full of deliciousness!
Speaking of a loaded down plate of deliciousness, that Chef Salad was FINE!! Beautifully cut fresh lettuce, chopped tomatoes, eggs, sliced cucumbers, a pile of olives, sliced mushrooms, bits of onion, bell peppers, pepperoni, pickle, and ham. With a full blanket of cheddar cheese and fresh chopped bacon on top! Then I drenched all of that with their homemade ranch dressing!

Y’all, even if your driving from Tupelo, either the burger or salad is worth the trip.
They do offer a daily plate lunch, ready to serve if your in a hurry or just in a country comfort food mood.
I was able to speak with daughter Courtney, about why the family opened The Father’s Table and the significance of its name.

She told me that after seeing the light after years of despair, her parents, owners Bobby and Gana Allred, decided to open a restaurant back in April of 2021. Although they had little to no experience in running a restaurant, they felt it was an opportune way to reach out and share their faith with others.

But with their faith, and help from family and friends, The Father’s Table has not only survived, but has thrived! During my visit, I got to meet three generations of the Allred family, mother, daughter, and granddaughter (Ella Rae aka The Little Charmer). Whether you want something on the menu or hot off the bar, there’s always a seat for you at The Father’s Table! Where friends become family!
