šŸ‘‡Menu is posted at the bottom of pagešŸ‘‡

Amsterdam Deli & Grill is a neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Tupelo. They serve authentic Mediterranean food with an Italian twist. In addition to their delicious food, they also serve a wide selection of refreshments, including beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Head Chef and Manager Trey Chadwick has been working with owners Ruth & Monther Erar to make gradual improvements to the decor and create an updated menu that will change seasonally, with new specials every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Not wanting to be known as just a sandwich shop, they are now offering a new elevated selection of fine recipes, some locally sourced ingredients, and other various things to diversify their offerings.

Chef Trey has a wealth of experience having worked at many of Tupeloā€™s best restaurants, including executive chef at the Tupelo Country Club.

Trey tells me that he has found his grove at Amsterdam Deli & Grill with many of his ideas coming to fruition. He says ā€œWe can now support a brand new catering system, and are capable of catering off site and to-go orders for 1,000 plus people if need be. Catering, buffet style foods, wine dinners, you name it, are all now a possibility with us. We hope people come in and get comfortable as they enjoy a meal worthy of any occasion, from an anniversary to a simple business lunch!ā€

Below are just a few of the new menu offering now available at Amsterdam Deli & Grill that I enjoyed:

āļø Charcuterie Board with Chefs selection of fine cheeses and meats such as Salami coppa, prosciutto, grilled cheddar jalapeƱo sausage, red wine soaked tomme, aged provolone, Gorgonzola Apricot jam, pickled turnips, olive oil, crostini, seasoned fried bread sticks

āļø New Orleans style bbq shrimp, with Grit Girl three cheese grits, roasted vegetables, Chardonnay Worcestershire butter sauce.

āļø Grilled scallop salad, orange segments, cucumber, and in house made Lemon & Zataar Viniagrette

āļø 12oz CAB marbled ribeye, Amsterdam Rice with their secret seasoning, grilled asparagus and roasted zucchini and squash, with a Cabernet Demi GlacĆ©.

The Demi glacĆ© is made from veal stock, reduced down with a ton of Cabernet wine, with celery, onion, carrot, bay leaves, rosemary, peppercorns. It’s reduced to a glossy texture then filtered through a fine sieve.

āļø Dessert was braised cinnamon apple and pecan bread pudding topped with honey.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Although you can appreciate how beautifully it all was plated, and how delicious it will taste, I really wanted yā€™all to know all the work, skill, and experience that went into every entrĆ©e, side dish, and dessert.

The charcuterie board has a multitude of cheese, meats, and veggies to nibble and share while enjoying your dining companions and cozy surroundings.

My salad looked simple but the combination of flavors and textures ranging from the grilled scallops, to the house made vinaigrette was simply divine!

The appetizer of huge Gulf Shrimp, grits, and roasted veggies was absolutely delicious! The shrimp were plump, deveined, and swimming in their rich sauces.

The Ribeye with house made sauce, Amsterdam rice, and veggies is a highly recommended combination! The steak was tender and its sauce and sides created a melody of deep rich flavors!

The desert was absolutely mouthwatering, swimming in butter and sweet flavors soaked up by its breading. They have plenty of sweet treats to choose from, but the braised cinnamon apple and pecan bread pudding topped with honey is an excellent choice to pair with any meal!

I also want to give a shoutout to the variety of beer and libations available at Amsterdam Deli & grill. Whenever I decide to enjoy a beer while eating out, I always look for something local. During this trip they had Peach Wheat on tap from 1817 Brewery. It was smooth with predominant notes of peach flavor.

Since 1817 is draft only, Amsterdam now provides Glass Grawlers to take your favorite drafts home to enjoy later!

This may have been one of my longest stories in a while, but when I find a local treasure, I want yā€™all to feel what I feel in your core. Itā€™s like a multi sensory type story. See with your eyes, feel it in your soul, and eventually let your taste buds enjoy the rest! Happy Trails!!
