Bluto’s Greek Tavern – Starkville, MS

Bluto’s Greek Tavern @ 511 University Dr, in the Cotton District of downtown Starkville exudes a Greek-themed collage ambiance. Drawing inspiration from the classic college cult film “National Lampoon’s Animal House,” the restaurant’s decor, menu, and cocktails embrace this theme.

As guests dine and drink, they are transported into a world where fraternity life meets Greek tradition, creating a lively and unforgettable dining experience in the heart of Starkville.

While the wife and I were in town visiting my daughter on the MSU campus, we decided to sample a few dishes from the breakfast menu at Bluto’s Greek Tavern.

In the Cotton District, parking is at a premium. But never fear, once you reach your destination, the restaurant has dedicated parking in the rear.

Inside, there is plenty of seating available, from bar and interior, to covered patio and open air dining during pleasant weather.

What we ordered:
🔥 BIG A$$ BURRITO
Flour Tortilla, Shredded Cheese, Onion, Tomatoes, Tater Tots, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Chipotle Sauce, and Pico.

🔥 FRIED SHRIMP AND GRITS
Smoked Sausage, Bacon, Bell Peppers and Onions.

🔥 HANGOVER CURE
One Pancake (Pick The Flavor), 1 Sausage Pattie, 1 Piece Bacon, 2 Eggs Your Way, and Grits.

❄️ Frozen Mimosa

There was so much I wanted to try, but the above selections was a good place to start.

I hade the Big A$$ Burrito and Frozen Mimosa. I was told by my server that the burrito was a very popular menu item. It was very big and very tasty, stuffed with cheese and traditional breakfast delights.

The wife had the shrimp and grits. She said that she prefers a grilled shrimp rather than the fried. I did try a good bite and found their use of well seasoned and breaded shrimp to be an exciting variation to the tradition dish.

My daughter went with the Hangover Cure and chose the Red Velvet Pancake. We were told that the ingredients were actually from the owner’s family recipe for red velvet cake. This was very tasty from the beautiful red velvet pancake to the assorted breakfast meats and grits.

Bluto’s Greek Tavern is very unique eatery with a fun atmosphere and Greek inspired food with a Southern flair. It’s definitely a must visit destination when visiting Stark Vegas. Enjoy!!

Everyone’s taste is different. My goal is to give you a glimpse of what I see and experience so you can judge for yourselves if the atmosphere and menu are right for you. So when you visit, be sure to tell the crew I recommended you. Happy Trails!!
