Whenever I hit a buffet that has both catfish and spaghetti, I have to indulge in this iconic combination! Fried catfish and spaghetti with meat sauce are two delicious dishes that have remained a popular pairing in the Southern United States for decades. Although their origins are very different, they share a common history in the American South.

While fried catfish and spaghetti with meat sauce may seem like an odd combination, they have become a popular duo in the American South. Some believe that the dish originated in Louisiana, where it was first served in Italian-owned restaurants. Others believe that it was simply a dish that was created by home cooks looking to combine two of their favorite dishes.

Regardless of its origin, fried catfish and spaghetti with meat sauce has become a staple in Southern cuisine.

Practically every item on the buffet was a favorite. From the smothered hamburger steaks, collards, chocolate cobbler, to the baked beans with hamburger meat. It’s hard to choose just one favorite from the buffet, but since it’s “all you can eat,” you don’t have to choose just one!

At the Wooden Spoon, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Grab a quick lunch from the buffet with selections that rotate daily, or order off the menu for a leisurely lunch solo, with friends, family, or coworkers. Happy Trails!
