Connie’s is the OG when it comes to Tupelo Chicken restaurants. You can get yours prepared fresh and hot, bone in, or tenders. And some of the best onion rings around!
Now their famous chicken is available in original and also spicy!!
Sooo how spicy was it? The first bite started out with the same original flavors… but then it started to sneak up on me. By the time I had a spicy strip, wing, and thigh, the heat was rollin’ on. At that point my nose did start running a little. They’re not playing with the new spicy. They came to the table to play! 🌶️ 👍👍
To cool it back down a couple notches I took a bite of roll and some coleslaw, and went in again. Oh, and my dipping choice was some Connie’s white gravy. I also really like the Connie’s signature sauce which reminds me of a remoulade version.
Although I didn’t get one this trip, their blueberry doughnuts are legendary, with local restaurants using them as an ingredient in some of their desserts! The Connie’s Blueberry Doughnut Bread Pudding available at The Blue Canoe in Tupelo is totally awesome and award winning!
