Dating back for over five decades. Old Hickory Steakhouse is one of the few eateries left in Columbus that can take us back in time and evoke cherished memories.

When you walk in, you’ll find its warm atmosphere, sizzling sounds, and mouthwatering aroma from steaks on the grill, can feel like returning home, rekindling memories of fond moments in our lives.

They have several dining areas to choose from. You will find a few tables upfront with a window view, several stalls for private dining, and two large banquet rooms in back.

Old Hickory Steakhouse can be summed up in two words, simply delicious! Their brand has remained unchanged since its inception. They offer a casual atmosphere, with a menu consisting of only 5 items. Your choice of steak, baked potato, salad, garlic bread, and choice of drink.

Menu showcase:
🔥14oz Ribeye
🔥Baked Potato
🥗Salad
🍺 Beer

Steaks are the star of the show at Old Hickory. The grill is on full display up front, with a large window view of Hwy 45, just outside. I was told that they never marinate the meat. That their recipe for tender deliciousness starts with steaks aged for at least 21 days. Each order is laid on a bed of hickory lump charcoal, seasoned with soy sauce, then cooked to temperature. Thats it!

My 14oz Ribeye was extremely tender, had a deep rich flavor, and was a perfect medium as I requested.

The potatoes are actually baked and tender throughout. Your choice of butter and / or sour cream are added when plated.

The salads are lettuce with tomato and choice of dressing. My Thousand Island dressing had a nice rich flavor and slightly thick texture. The salad is mostly to get you geared up for the main course to come.

The beverage selction consists of tea, coffee, soft drinks, or canned beer. A frosted mason jar is provided on request. I chose a Michelob ultra in a frosted mug. For my taste, it was a perfect pairing!

Hidden gems, like Old Hickory Steakhouse, allow us to connect with our past and create new memories that we’ll cherish for years to come. With mom and pop restaurants dwindling, it makes those that remain, even more precious.

So the next time you visit, take a moment to savor the experience and tell the folks at Old Hickory Steakhouse that I recommend them! Happy trails!
