South Restaurant – Saturday Brunch

South Restaurant @ 1010 North Gloster Street, Tupelo, MS. Saturday Brunch at South Restaurant!

I celebrated my big 5-0 birthday recently, but then I thought, why stop there?! There are so many great restaurants to eat good, and have fun. I would be remiss if I stopped at just one! Might as well make it a month long celebration! And what better way to keep the party rolling than South’s weekend brunch with build your own Bellini and Mimosa bar!

South is a beautifully decorated, Tupelo favorite. They have plenty to spice up any outing from date night specials, occasional live music, and weekend brunch that includes a “Build Your Own Bloody” menu to a Bellini and Mimosa bar!

Their were several in our party, so we got to sample several South favorites! My pick was the Hickory Smoked BLT. This isn’t your homemade variety BLT. It is built with piles of bacon, lettuce, tomato, creole mayo, avocado slices, and a fried egg on wheatberry bread.

It comes with one side, which their tomato pie complimented nicely. This is a huge sandwich with a creamy texture flowing through it, from the avocado and egg, to the creole mayo.

Benedict with soul

My crew chose the Benedict with Soul, shrimp and Grits, the ’56 Elvis French Toast, Breakfast Hash and eggs,

PLUS South’s new Chocolate gravy biscuits with a side of bacon! The chocolate gravy is bought local from The Cowgirl Gourmet!

Although I haven’t tried all their brunch choices, I have ordered most from past visits. They have all been very tasty and beautifully plated. Their use of bacon and eggs in many of their brunch selections is truly inspiring and totally delicious!

For a weekend brunch outing, the Bellini and Mimosa bar is a fun treat! They bring you a glass of Champagne, then you proceed to the flavor station. There is a wide selection of fruit juices to customize your concoction and sliced fruit for garnish.

For this trip, I chose the peach juice with a fresh slice to infuse the flavor. Although, I would like to eventually try them all, this peach treat will be tough to beat!

Till next time, I’ll see y’all Out N About Tupelo!
